Privacy Policy
The short version
- You do not need an account to use our apps, and we never see your payment details.
- Our weather apps use your location, with your permission, to show local weather, radar and alerts. Where we can, we round it to about 1 km before it leaves your device.
- Free versions of some apps show ads. Advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier only if you allow tracking, plus approximate location and device information.
- We use Google Firebase to measure how our apps are used and to fix crashes.
- You control location, notifications and tracking in your device settings, and you can ask us to access or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Voros Innovation & Business Services Pty Ltd (ACN 145 977 724), trading as Voros Innovation ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV, including widgets, Live Activities and screensavers (the "Apps"), and our website vorinn.com.
We are responsible for your personal information as the data controller. We handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where they apply to you, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and US state privacy laws.
This policy covers all of our Apps, including Antivirus Zap and Adware Zap. Our Terms of Use also apply when you use the Apps.
2. What each app uses

3. Information we collect and why
Location (weather Apps)
If you allow it, our weather Apps use your device's location while you are using them to show weather, radar and alerts for where you are. We do not request "Always" location access. Here is where location goes:
- Forecasts: coordinates rounded to about 1 km are sent to our forecast server, which requests the forecast from The Weather Company.
- Place names: to show the name of your current place, the App sends your coordinates directly to The Weather Company.
- Severe weather alerts in the US: the App sends your coordinates directly to the US National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) to check for active alerts.
- Radar maps: when you view the radar, the App loads map tiles for the area on screen from our tile servers, or for Japan from the Japan Meteorological Agency.
- Widgets, Apple Watch and Live Activities: the place you selected is sent to our servers to fetch radar snapshots and rain forecasts.
- If you do not share your location: the App may send your IP address to ipdata to estimate your approximate city, so it can still show local weather. You can always search for a place instead. City search uses Apple Maps.
Your saved places and settings are stored on your device and shared between the App, its widgets and its Apple Watch app.
Severe weather and rain notifications (Doppler Radar, 14 Day Weather, Living Weather HD on iPhone and iPad)
If you turn on alert or rain notifications, the App registers your device with our alerts server (alerts.vorinn.com) so we can send you notifications. We store:
- your device's push notification token and Live Activity tokens, the App you use and your device language;
- your saved places in supported countries, with coordinates rounded to about 1 km, their names, and which one is selected;
- your alert and rain settings, such as alert levels, minimum rain intensity, how far ahead to warn you, and quiet hours with your time zone; and
- a short history of notifications we sent you, so we do not send duplicates.
To work out which official alert zones apply, our server sends the coordinates of your saved places to the US National Weather Service. Notifications are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service. Turning alerts off in the App deletes your registration from our server. Our Mac Apps check for alerts on your Mac and do not register with our server.
Device, usage and diagnostic information (all Apps)
We use Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config to understand how our Apps are used, fix problems and adjust settings without a full update. These services collect:
- app interactions, such as screens viewed, features used, settings changed, notifications opened and, in our wallpaper Apps, search terms and wallpapers saved;
- identifiers for your app installation and, in our iPhone weather Apps, your advertising identifier if you allow tracking;
- device information, such as model, operating system, language, time zone, and approximate location derived from your IP address; and
- crash reports and performance data, such as the state of the App when it crashed.
Antivirus Zap and Adware Zap include a setting that turns analytics off.
Purchases
Apple processes all App Store payments. We never receive your name, card or payment details. Apple tells us which product was bought, when, and whether a purchase or subscription is active. Some Apps use RevenueCat to check purchases and manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created by the App, your purchase history, and device and App information. If you buy a direct-download version of Antivirus Zap or Adware Zap from our website, payment and licensing are handled by Paddle, which collects the details needed to process your order under its own privacy policy.
Community wallpapers (Live Wallpapers & Themes 4K, Fish Aquarium Live Wallpapers)
These Apps let people share and rate wallpapers. To make this work, the App automatically creates an anonymous account with Google Firebase. It has a random ID and no name, email or password. We store:
- wallpapers you upload: the photo, video, preview image and title, and which App you used;
- your ratings, reports and blocked items; and
- moderation records linked to your anonymous ID, such as warnings or suspensions for uploads that break our rules.
Uploads are checked automatically with Google Cloud Vision for inappropriate content, and published wallpapers may be categorised using Google's AI services. Published wallpapers are visible to everyone who uses our Apps and are stored on our servers. If you send a copyright report, we collect the name, company, email address and phone number you give us so we can handle it.
Antivirus Zap and Adware Zap
Scans run entirely on your Mac. We do not upload your files or file fingerprints. To stay up to date, the Apps download threat signatures from our servers and, for Antivirus Zap, from the open-source ClamAV project. When checking browser extensions, the Apps look up the IDs of installed Chrome extensions on the Chrome Web Store, so Google receives those extension IDs. Lists of known unwanted extensions are downloaded from Google Firebase using an anonymous connection. Direct-download versions check our servers for software updates.
Support emails
If you email us, we receive your email address, name and message. When you send feedback from inside an App, the email also includes your device model, operating system and App version, technical flags such as whether the copy of the App is genuine, and an App diagnostic log that can contain recent App activity and places you looked up. You can remove the attachment before sending. We use this information only to help you and improve our Apps.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name or email address in the Apps.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- We do not collect health, financial or other sensitive information, and we do not use precise location to profile you.
4. Advertising and tracking
Ads help us keep many of our Apps free. In Apps that show ads, our advertising partners (Google AdMob and, through Google's mediation, Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads, including Unity's ironSource ad quality service) may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency;
- other device identifiers, IP address and approximate location;
- device and App information; and
- which ads you see and interact with.
They use it to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and prevent fraud. If you allow tracking, ads may be personalised based on your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you do not, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalised. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, we use Google's consent tool to ask for your choices before personalised ads are shown, as required by law.
You can change your choices at any time:
- Tracking: on iPhone and iPad, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Apple's ads: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
- Remove ads: where an App offers a "Remove Ads" or full version purchase, buying it stops ads in that App.
Each advertising partner handles data under its own privacy policy: Google, Meta and Unity.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only as described in this policy. We require our service providers to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us, except where they act independently under their own privacy policy, as advertising partners and weather agencies do.
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase, AdMob, Cloud Vision, Vertex AI, Chrome Web Store) | Usage, device and diagnostic data, identifiers, approximate location, community uploads, browser extension IDs | Analytics, crash reports, ads, anonymous accounts and storage for community features, content screening, extension checks |
| Meta Platforms and Unity Technologies | Identifiers, IP address, approximate location, device and ad data | Advertising |
| The Weather Company | Coordinates and your IP address | Forecasts and place names |
| US National Weather Service (NOAA) | Coordinates and your IP address | Severe weather alerts |
| Japan Meteorological Agency; Iowa State University | Map area viewed and your IP address | Radar imagery |
| ipdata | Your IP address | Approximate location when you do not share your location |
| RevenueCat; Paddle | Purchase information and random identifiers; order details for direct-download purchases | Purchases and subscriptions |
| Apple | Push tokens, search terms, purchase information | Notifications, place search, purchases, App integrity checks |
| Amazon Web Services; Cloudflare | Information stored on or passing through our servers | Hosting, network delivery and security |
| ClamAV (Cisco) | Your IP address | Antivirus signature downloads |
We may also disclose information to our professional advisers; to law enforcement, regulators or courts when the law requires it or to protect people's safety or our legal rights; and to a buyer or successor if we sell or transfer an App or our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
6. Where your information is processed
We are based in Australia. Our servers and service providers process information in other countries, mainly the United States (Amazon Web Services, Google, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, The Weather Company, NOAA), Germany (our European alerts and radar server, which also handles notification settings for places in Europe) and Japan (Japan Meteorological Agency), as well as other countries where these providers operate.
When we send personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles. For information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses used by our providers.
7. How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Saved places and settings on your device | Until you delete them or the App |
| Notification registration (token, places, settings) | Until you turn notifications off, Apple tells us the token is no longer valid, or 60 days after your device last registered |
| Records of notifications sent | 7 days for alerts, 90 days for rain notifications |
| Analytics data | No more than 14 months |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
| Community uploads | Until you delete them, or we remove them for breaking our rules |
| Moderation records and copyright reports | As long as needed to keep the community safe and resolve the matter |
| Support emails | Up to 3 years after our last contact with you |
| Server logs | A limited time for security and troubleshooting |
We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve disputes. Advertising partners keep data under their own policies.
8. Your choices and controls
- Location: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services (iPhone, iPad) or System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services (Mac). You can search for places instead.
- Notifications: turn alerts off in the App to delete your registration from our server, or turn notifications off in your device settings.
- Tracking and ads: see section 4.
- Community uploads: delete your uploads in the App at any time.
- Everything on your device: deleting an App deletes the information it stored on your device.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for a purpose. Email info@vorosinnovation.com. Because our Apps do not use accounts, please tell us which App you use and, if you can, roughly when, so we can find your information. We may need to confirm your request comes from you. We will respond within 30 days, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for making a request.
Australia. You have rights to access and correct your personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.
EEA, UK and Switzerland. You can also ask us to restrict processing, give you your information in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before.
10. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- To provide the features you ask for, such as local weather, radar, notifications, purchases and community uploads: performance of our contract with you.
- Personalised advertising and tracking: your consent.
- Analytics, crash reporting, non-personalised advertising, security, fraud prevention and moderation: our legitimate interests in running, funding, improving and protecting our Apps, balanced against your rights.
- Meeting legal requirements: legal obligation.
11. US state privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access, correct and delete it; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, letting advertising partners collect identifiers and device information in our Apps may count as "selling" or "sharing" for targeted advertising under some of these laws. To opt out, turn off tracking as described in section 4, or email us. We use precise location only to provide the features you ask for, not to infer characteristics about you. In the past 12 months we collected the categories of information described in section 3: identifiers, commercial information (purchases), internet and app activity, approximate and precise geolocation, and inferences used for advertising. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our response.
12. Automated moderation
Community uploads are screened automatically for inappropriate content. An upload that is flagged may be rejected automatically, and repeated violations may result in a temporary or permanent block on uploading. If you think a decision was wrong, email us and a person will review it. We do not use automated decisions that affect you in any other significant way.
13. Children
Our Apps are made for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Security
We protect personal information with encryption in transit, access controls and by collecting as little as we need, for example by rounding coordinates before they reach our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
15. Our website
vorinn.com does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request information to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Links to the App Store take you to Apple's website, where Apple's privacy policy applies.
16. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our Apps or the law change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, if the changes are significant, tell you in the App or on our website before they take effect.
17. Contact and complaints
